Non-Capturing Group(?:([\/≈↓£°!↑]).*?\1|$[^()]*$|<[^<>]*>)

1st Alternative([\/≈↓£°!↑]).*?\1

Group 1([\/≈↓£°!↑])

Character Class[\/≈↓£°!↑]

\/the literal / (47₁₀ / 57₈ / 2F₁₆)

≈the literal ≈ (8776₁₀ / 21110₈ / 2248₁₆)

↓the literal ↓ (8595₁₀ / 20623₈ / 2193₁₆)

£the literal £ (163₁₀ / 243₈ / A3₁₆)

°the literal ° (176₁₀ / 260₈ / B0₁₆)

!the literal ! (33₁₀ / 41₈ / 21₁₆)

↑the literal ↑ (8593₁₀ / 20621₈ / 2191₁₆)

.*?any character (except for line terminators), repeated any number of times

\1the text saved by group 1

2nd Alternative$[^()]*$

\(the literal ( (40₁₀ / 50₈ / 28₁₆)

Negated Character Class[^()]*

*matches any number of characters outside the set below:

(the literal ( (40₁₀ / 50₈ / 28₁₆)

)the literal ) (41₁₀ / 51₈ / 29₁₆)

\)the literal ) (41₁₀ / 51₈ / 29₁₆)

3rd Alternative<[^<>]*>

<the literal < (60₁₀ / 74₈ / 3C₁₆)

Negated Character Class[^<>]*

*matches any number of characters outside the set below:

<the literal < (60₁₀ / 74₈ / 3C₁₆)

>the literal > (62₁₀ / 76₈ / 3E₁₆)

(*SKIP)acts like (*PRUNE), but the next unanchored match attempt starts where (*SKIP) was reached instead of at the next subject character

(*F)forces the current match attempt to fail at this position

2nd Alternative\s+

\s+any whitespace character, repeated at least once

Global pattern flags

g modifier: global. Finds all matches instead of stopping after the first

m modifier: multiline. Causes ^ and $ to match the start and end of each line, not only the start and end of the string
