*?repeats the group contents below any number of times:

</scriptthe literal text </script (case insensitive)

.any character

sitethe literal text site (case insensitive)

(?1)*calls group 1 as a subroutine, repeated any number of times

</script>the literal text </script> (case insensitive)

Global pattern flags

g modifier: global. Finds all matches instead of stopping after the first

s modifier: single line. Allows a dot to match line terminators

i modifier: insensitive. Matches without distinguishing uppercase and lowercase letters
